We now have a target time frame for opening the next Tsunami Sushi restaurant in Lakewood Ranch. After a few delays and bottlenecks, we’re confident we’ll be ready for the new location sometime in late January. Update on Lakewood Ranch Location Opening
As we mentioned in our November update, opening a new site isn’t easy, especially when you encounter lots of roadblocks like hurricanes, supply chain shortages, and other issues.
Also, when we open a Japanese-style restaurant, our goal is to make it taste, look, and feel authentic. Since it takes a while to ship items from Japan, many of the decorative features have not yet arrived, which we rely on to create a novel restaurant setting.
Of course, it’s not just decorations and construction issues. Our patrons in Sarasota really enjoy our exclusive Sake offerings, which you can’t find anywhere other than Japan. We’re still waiting on a few things, but are much closer to being able to give our Lakewood Ranch clientele the same premium service and selections we offer in Sarasota.
Other than shipping problems, the new site has experienced a few construction difficulties, but we’re confident in a resolution by the target open date. We just got new countertops in mid-December, and the construction crews are working hard to address a few drywall concerns.
